How does it work?

You become a member of a racing syndicate, The Classics Syndicate. You can see it at www.theclassicspartnership.co.uk

You will jointly own a racehorse and participate in all of the excitement, thrills and passion of racehorse ownership. You may visit the yard and meet the trainer, discuss its progress, going to your races as an owner! You will make new friends in the racing world and maybe even get some good tips!

You will also get to partake in syndicate hospitality days at famous yards and any open days as a guest of the trainer and of course you can bring a guest yourself.

What does the syndicate cover?

The syndicate covers all expenses for 12 months, including the purchase and training of the horse as well as the following:

  • Blacksmith
  • Chiropractor
  • Gallop fees
  • Equine Swimming Pool Charges
  • Trainer and Stable Lad's Expenses
  • All Race Entry And Jockey Fees
  • All Routine And Unexpected Veterinary Fees
  • All Administrative Charges Made By The British Horseracing Board And Weatherbys (Racing's Governing Bodies) Including The Cost Of Registering A Racing Partnership
  • Colours And Authority To Act
  • All Racing Syndicate Running Costs And Expenses Incurred Throughout The Agreement Period
  • Hospitality Days At The Stables And At The Races
  • Invitations to one hospitality day of racing including entry to a private box at a Newbury race meeting.
  • Invitations for 2 people to 4 days racing in the year, guaranteed

How many people are there in each syndicate and how is it managed?

This may vary from competition to competition, but in this competition your prize is a one quarter share in a syndicate of 4 owners for one full year and racing season. All racehorse syndicate members receive direct communication from the Syndicate Manager. This is done by home phone, fax or e-mail. Also, the Syndicate Manager will be contactable by telephone between 9am and 5 pm during the weekdays.

Who buys the horses?

Initially, our star trainers Charlie Mann and Brian Meehan buy all the horses, but it is envisaged that this will vary from competition to competition and we are looking to include other famous and successful trainers.

How successful are they?

Brian and Charlie are both world renowned trainers and long-standing pillars of the racing establishment. Why not look them up on their web sites at www.charliemann.com and www.brianmeehan.com

Who trains the horses?

The horses will be trained by Brian and Charlie alongside all their other bloodstock.

Where do we see the horses?

Brian and Charlie's horses are stabled at yards in Manton in Wiltshire and Lambourne in Berkshire respectively.

Can we see the horse being trained?

Yes. Of course, it's co-ordinated with the trainers and the yards but Charlie and Brian will be really pleased to accommodate you by prior appointment at the yards. They'll give you a tour and let you share in the whole experience, including time at the gallops. You'll get to know the staff and if at any races you'll be able to discuss the race and the horse with the jockey and the trainer.

How do I know when my horse is running?

Owners are kept fully informed as to the progress and running plans of their bloodstock. This is done through email, fax and, most importantly, by personal communication on the telephone by the syndicate manager.

What happens on race day?

The syndicate manager will organise for two owners' badges to be collected from the owners' entrance. Owners have access to the paddock and the parade ring and pre-parade rings to meet the jockey before the race. You will also be able to use the Owners' and Trainers' Car Park. You'll also have access to the Owners and Trainers bars or viewing areas and the winners enclosure if the horse wins or is placed. Your race day owner's badges will be waiting for you when you arrive.

What makes us different to other syndicates?

Of course, the most important difference is that you could possibly buy into the wonderful world of horse racing for just £10 as a competition winner! We will also arrange for the trainers to make sure that you are introduced to the wonderful world of National Hunt and Flat racing and thoroughbred ownership and made very welcome. They'll make sure that your raceday experience and visits to the yards are personalised and enjoyable.

Why a Syndicate?

Syndicate membership is lots of fun and a great social experience; you share the thrill and passion of bloodstock ownership with other like-minded people from all walks of life.
